Specialized Programs

STEM for Early Learners

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) introduces children to foundational skills that spark curiosity and critical thinking. For example, kids can build structures with blocks or recycled materials, learning concepts of balance and design. Targeting Racism and Bullying

Our "Embrace and Empower" (E&E) program is dedicated to helping students from age 7 to age 17 recognize and address racism and bullying through education, empathy, and active engagement, grounded in the love and teachings of Christ. E&E aims to promote cultural awareness, understanding, unity, and resilience within our community.

Program Components:

Educational Workshops

Understanding Racism and Bullying: Workshops that provide an in-depth understanding of the history, impact, and various forms of racism and bullying, all while reflecting on Christ's teachings about love and justice.

Cultural Awareness & Respect

Sessions focused on learning about different cultures, traditions, and perspectives to promote respect and appreciation for diversity, guided by the principle that we are all created in God's image.

Empathy and Compassion Training:

Activities and discussions aimed at fostering empathy and compassion, inspired by Christ's example of love and acceptance.

Discussion Groups

Open Dialogue Sessions:

Safe spaces for students to share their experiences, listen to others, and engage in meaningful conversations about racism, bullying, and diversity, all while seeking to embody the love and understanding taught by Christ.

Storytelling Circles:

Encouraging participants to share personal stories that highlight the importance of understanding and empathy in addressing racism and bullying, drawing parallels to the parables of Jesus.

Conflict Resolution and Peer Support:

Structured activities that teach students conflict resolution skills and how to support their peers in standing against racism and bullying.

Program Target Age Groups:

Elementary School

(Second Grade to Fifth Grade):

Younger children are at a formative stage where they can learn the basics of empathy, kindness, and respect. Early intervention helps prevent bullying behaviors and fosters inclusive attitudes from a young age.

Middle School

(Sixth Grade to Eighth Grade):

Middle school students are developing critical thinking skills and a stronger sense of self. This is a crucial time to address issues of racism and bullying, as peer influence becomes more significant. Providing tools for conflict resolution and cultural awareness can greatly impact their social interactions.

High School

(Ninth Grade to Age 17):

High school students are preparing for adulthood and are more capable of understanding complex social issues. They can take on leadership roles within the program, serving as mentors and advocates. Addressing racism and bullying at this stage equips them with the skills and knowledge to carry these values into their future endeavors.

About Kimberly Davis

Mrs. Kimberly Davis, known affectionately as Mrs. Kimmy, is the esteemed founder of Kimmy D's Christian Academy. She is devoted to sharing her faith and is unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Inspired by Romans 1:16, she believes that the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. Her life's purpose is to worship the Lord, serve Him, and share His message, constantly striving to honor Christ in all her endeavors. At Kimmy D's Christian Academy, she brings the Spirit of the Lord into the educational setting, fostering a nurturing and faith-based environment for all students.

Professional Journey

Kimberly Davis has over 27 years of experience in education. Her career began as an elementary school teacher, where she taught third and fourth grades. Throughout her teaching career, she has shown an unwavering dedication to her students' academic growth and personal development.

Kimberly's commitment to education led her to serve as an adjunct faculty member at Seward County Community College, where she taught night classes in reading skills, writing skills, and study skills. In this role, she provided essential educational support to adult learners, showcasing her exceptional time management skills and dedication to lifelong learning.

Her career continued to evolve when she assumed the role of ABE/GED Coordinator at Seward County Community College's Colvin Adult Learning Center. For nine years, she led efforts to help adult learners achieve their educational goals, overseeing programs that provided crucial academic support and guidance. Additionally, as an ESL instructor, she assisted students in improving their English language skills. Kimberly played a vital role in helping students obtain their GEDs, secure employment, prepare for job interviews, and transition seamlessly into higher education. Her leadership and commitment significantly contributed to the success of many students, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to advance in their careers and academic pursuits.

After her tenure at the Colvin Adult Learning Center, Kimberly transitioned into a new phase of life, getting married and starting a family. Motivated by the desire to be present for her children and actively participate in their early education, she founded Kimmy D's Christian Daycare. This venture allowed her to create a nurturing and educational environment for her own children and others in the community.

Kimberly later moved to Dumas, Texas, where she joined the Dumas Discovery Center. Her exceptional leadership skills were quickly recognized, earning her the position of Floor Supervisor within three months and subsequently being promoted to Director, a role she held for approximately eight years. Her tenure at the Discovery Center was marked by significant contributions to its growth and success.

Kimmy D's Christian Academy

With a deep faith and a commitment to education, Kimberly founded Kimmy D's Christian Academy. This private school aims to put Christ first and share the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ with students of all ages. At Kimmy D's Christian Academy, students receive a comprehensive education that integrates academic excellence with spiritual growth. The academy is dedicated to fostering a love for learning, developing strong moral character, and equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life.

Teaching Philosophy

Kimberly believes that all students can learn and that a desire to learn will increase over time, encouraging students to embrace challenges boldly. It is her responsibility as an educator to create a loving, energetic, and comfortable atmosphere that encourages students to strive for higher levels of achievement. Building relationships is the cornerstone of her teaching philosophy. Accepting individuals for who they are and embracing each character creates unity and trust, which are essential for achieving educational goals.

Childhood Memories

Reflecting on her own educational journey, Kimberly fondly remembers attending public school from K-12. She cherishes the times when teachers and principals went above and beyond to educate students, even after hours. These experiences instilled in her the values of respect for elders, authority, and self-respect, which she now imparts to her students.

Kimberly acknowledges the challenges faced by modern educators, including teacher shortages and larger classrooms. Despite these challenges, she remains committed to making a difference. Her vision for Kimmy D's Christian Academy is to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable, loved, and important while gaining the knowledge they need to excel in various subjects. The academy aims to help students embrace high self-esteem, self-worth, and self-respect, providing them with the foundation to achieve their full potential.

Kimmy D's Christian Academy offers a lot of activities. We learn about different projects, different activities, so a lot about Christ. The main reason why I like KDCA is because of Mrs. Kimmy. She has taught me many things in my life like how to write perfectly, how to use my manners and how to pray. She is the most important person in my life. She has taught me so much. I am truly blessed to see how Hods hand continues to move in this school. I have the pleasure of seeing some of these children on Sunday morning at church. And this past Sunday these babies did amazing in their songs they have learned. Mrs. Kimmy is truly doing a fantastic job with these babies. May God continue to have his hand on this school. KDCA is a fun learning educational facility. I have learned so much especially this summer. I am well prepared for the school year. I feel at peace when I am at KDCA. I don't have to worry about being bullied here because everyone shows love especially Mrs. Kimmy. Most of all, I learn a lot about God's words including scriptures and prayers. KDCA is so peaceful. I have met so many wonderful people here.
